If I read 1 good valid murder mystery book, would I really want that to be the ONLY book on the subject? If my 8th grade history book was considered to be accurate by the majority would I really want to be limited to only knowing one author's thoughts on the subject? Or how about browsers and music players? Do I just want to use IE? It gets the job done well enough. So what's the difference between those analogies and fitness ebook, supplements and programs? Really there's no difference to me. ...

Making All City This Was a Great Moment In My Life. Toward the end of my junior year at Weequahic High School in Newark New Jersey, I started hearing from my friends that I was going to make All City. How did they know I asked myself? In my usual mood of high esteem I was thinking that there was no way I would make the all city team. "Vailburg's catcher was better than me" is what crossed my mind. I make the grade - No way. I told you I had high self esteem.   The two best teams in the city ...

Top Ten Things I Would Like To See Regarding Baseball  1 Put the designated hitter in the National League or remove the DH in the American League. Let's create some uniformity.  . 2 Re: Ground Rules or Grounds Rules or Grounds Rule - Not Grounds RoundIf, in the opinion of the umpire. I know I know, some of you do not like opinions, especially by umpires. But the umpire thinks that Derek Jeter should score on a well hit ball by Alex Rodriguez. Derek Jeter may have been running on the pitch. ...

The Harlem Globetrotters are a basketball team that combines athleticism and comedy to create one of the best-known sports entertainment franchises in the world. Created by Abe Saperstein in 1927 in Chicago, Illinois, the team adopted the name Harlem because of its connotations as a leading African-American community. Over the years it has toured over 118 countries, playing more than 20,000 exhibition games, mostly against deliberately ineffective opposition like the Washington Generals ...

The first baseball gloves to hit the field were created sometime in the late 1800s. These gloves were simplistic compared to today's models. Early gloves were usually made of thin pieces of leather and were precursors to the advanced baseball gloves of today. An item that was not generally used, even during the time of the first baseball glove, was the baseball batting glove. Every baseball glove manufacturer in the United States produces baseball batting gloves. You can find them at online ...

The following excerpt comes from the book, Soccer Dreams, (a top-seller in sports journalism at Amazon) which describes Leah Lauber's true adventure following the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team, as a fan and 12-year old Junior Reporter during the history-making 1999 Women's World Cup. While the article is now dated and was written primarily for children, the lesson itself is timeless in describing what it takes to be a world-class athlete. Do you have what it takes to be a world-class ...

In the mid 1850s, when baseball was in its infancy, players made their own bats. They experimented with flat bats, round bats, and heavy bats. They ultimately discovered that the barrel shaped bat was the most effective. Today, college baseball bats have taken this technology to a new, powerful level upon the introduction of aluminum bats in the mid 1970s. Too many wooden bats were being broken, so due to budget crunches suffered by many college athletic programs, collegiate baseball made ...

The San Antonio Spurs have rewarded an assortment of players for their service on the team by retiring their number into the rafters, which is an attractive accomplishment for any basketball player. Out of former Spurs players, Johnny Moore, who played in the 80s, had his # 00 retired. Cardio is one of the big three in the game of changing your body, the way I look at it there is diet, cardio and weights. The diet is self explanatory, the cardio is to burn calories before and after the cardio workout and weights are to create more muscle which automatically needs more calories just to maintain. I will try in the future to add info on individual types of cardio training but for now just want to outline how, when and what kind of exercise counts. Firstly any time that you do ...

Spectacular sport performances often coexisted with equally sensational doping cases. One of the most common and popular enhancing substances was the Ephedra-based diet pill. Many sportsmen were publicly shamed, banned from their sport and left the competitive scene. Why should athletes stay away from Ephedra pill? Ephedrine, either as a dietary supplement, or as the Ephedra weight-loss pill, is a banned substance. Any athlete who fails the Ephedrine doping test is forever discredited. Here are ...

The Dallas Mavericks have been building a team for years that's been as exciting and interesting as any team in the NBA, as measured by demand for Dallas Mavericks tickets. However, in recent years, the Mavs have been stuck with a reputation for being a high-scoring, talented team that couldn't play defense, couldn't play a half-court game and were basically soft. In essence, they were seen as a team with a lot of flash and no substance. That all changed last season, however, when a tough, ...

How would you like to eat all you want and still lose weight, or maintain your trim figure? Sounds impossible? Have you seen those skinny young women who eat like horses, with plate after plate of food at the buffet table without putting on any weight? Ok, so some of them may be bulimic. You know, the sort who eat all they want, then go to the toilet to throw up everything they just ate. Not only is that disgusting, it is very unhealthy. That damages your body in the long run. No, I'm ...
